A. Knowledge about Vietnam evisa application
Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel documents granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.
An electronic Vietnam visa (or Vietnam E-visa) is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for maximum of 30 days, single entry.

B. Step to step how to apply Vietnam evisa on official government website
Below are the full steps of Vietnam evisa application on official goverment E-visa website:
1. Visit government Vietnam evisa official website
First thing to do: please visit the government official e-visa website here:

*Do notice: There is only 01 official website to apply Vietnam e-visa from the government. Any links beside the one above claiming that they are official, are all scams.
When you visit the website, you can change Language to English in case the site is showing contents in Vietnamese. Those options are in the top right corner of the website. After that, click “Electronic Visa” or “E-visa” banner to go to the next step.
In the next page, you can ignore the information above, as they are all explained more detailly and visually in AN Tours Vietnam’s blog – Vietnam evisa & a full guide you must read.
Then click into Selection 1: For outside Vietnam foreigners.
On this page, there will be a short guide from the government, please read it carefully and tick “Confirmation of reading carefully instructions and having completed application”, then click NEXT.
After all these steps, you will go in the next one of Vietnam evisa application: Filling your information.
2. Fill the Vietnam evisa application form
When you reach the next page, it will look like the screenshot above. There will be 3 parts of the form that you have to fill fully and correctly:
- Personal portrait images (4cm x 6cm, looking straight, no glasses)
- Passport data page: Full page including photo, personal information and ICAO lines
- Your personal & traveling information

There are 2 special cases:
- You enter Vietnam by being invited/ guaranteed by agency/ organization: fill if you have any
- You travel with children under 14: fill the form as the image above
If you are not in any of the 2 cases, tick “I assure that I have truthfully declared all relevant details.”, then fill the Captcha and click “Review application form”.
You will receive these information as the image above. You must screenshot, or remember, or write down these, as they are required to look up for your Vietnam evisa on the system:
- Registration code
- Date of birth
3. Receive your Vietnam evisa
It will take 3-7 days for the government to process your Vietnam evisa. After a few days, you can look up your e-visa to see if it is available by visiting Vietnam Official Evisa Application Status Check website >
Then you just need to fill all the information required to check on your Vietnam evisa. If it is ready, you can download it, and it will look like this:
4. Show your Vietnam evisa when you arrive
Even though you apply for Vietnam e-Visa entirely online, you still need to print it and present the physical copy on your arrival in Vietnam.
5. Specialy cases - urgent Vietnam evisa
There are some cases that you can not use the Official Vietnam Evisa website: when you need an urgent e-visa in under 3 days. As it will take at least 3 days to get an e-visa from the government in the normal way, you will not be able to make it to Vietnam.
