Cham Katê and Bàu Trúc Pottery Festivals Set October 2026 Dates

Cham Katê runs October 9–11, while the first Bàu Trúc pottery festival is scheduled for October 10–12 in Khánh Hòa.

Khánh Hòa’s Cham Katê festival is scheduled for October 9–11, 2026, and the first Bàu Trúc Cham Pottery Festival for October 10–12. The two events overlap around Ninh Phước, giving visitors a chance to see the wider Katê celebrations and a new festival focused on the Cham pottery tradition.

The Katê program is planned across Phước Hữu, Phước Hậu, Ninh Phước, Thuận Nam and Ninh Hải communes, as well as Bảo An and Đô Vinh wards. The pottery festival is a separate event in Ninh Phước, organized by the commune authorities for the first time in 2026.

What is scheduled at Bàu Trúc

The pottery festival’s ceremonial program includes the opening of the Pô Klong Can temple in Bàu Trúc hamlet. The wider festival plan also lists pottery-making demonstrations, exhibitions, local food and product displays, sports and traditional games. A program titled “Soul of Bàu Trúc Pottery” is scheduled for the evening of October 10; a conference on preserving the pottery tradition is planned for October 11.

The named activities make October 10 and 11 the clearest dates for visitors interested in the pottery program, while Katê celebrations continue through October 11 across several localities. The published plans do not give event opening hours or ticket details, and they do not map every Katê ceremony to a specific day and venue. Check the local program before choosing a particular ceremony or making a same-day connection between sites.

Bàu Trúc pottery is made by hand by Cham artisans, and the festival is intended to showcase the craft and its community. Visitors looking for the pottery event should distinguish it from the wider Katê festival: their dates overlap, but they have separate programs and locations.
