Da Nang Volunteer Returns Wedding Ring to Portuguese Honeymooners in Phu Quoc
After a couple lost a wedding ring in the sea off My Khe Beach, volunteer Phan Thanh Trinh found it and traveled to Phu Quoc to return it.
A volunteer from Da Nang traveled to Phu Quoc this week to return a wedding ring to a Portuguese couple on their honeymoon. They had lost it in the sea off My Khe Beach in Da Nang.

A two-day search off My Khe Beach
The couple spent two hours searching the water without finding the ring. With strong waves and a high tide, Phan Thanh Trinh told them he would return at 10 a.m. the following day with a metal detector and other equipment. He said he would search without charge.
After two days of searching, Trinh found the ring on Wednesday and showed it to the couple by video call. They had flown to Phu Quoc, more than 1,000 kilometers from Da Nang. Trinh flew there on Thursday morning to return the ring, then headed back to Da Nang that afternoon.
The couple said they were happy to cover his return flights. After the reunion, they visited Sunset Town and shared a meal with him.
Years of volunteer help on Da Nang’s beaches
Trinh has spent 15 years volunteering to help tourists and local residents recover belongings lost along Da Nang’s beaches.
