Long Thanh Airport Sets International Passenger Fee at US$25
Long Thanh’s international passenger-service fee is US$25 before VAT and applies to tickets issued from October 1, ahead of the airport’s planned December launch.
Long Thanh International Airport will charge international passengers US$25 per person, before VAT, under a new Ministry of Construction decision. The price applies to tickets issued from 00:00 on October 1, 2026, using the local time where the ticket is issued — not only to flights departing after that date.

What the decision means for a ticket
The fee schedule took effect on September 29. It sets the domestic passenger-service charge at VND90,909 per passenger and the international charge at US$25; both amounts exclude VAT. The separate October 1 rule determines which newly issued tickets use those prices.
If a ticket was already issued for a departure from Tan Son Nhat and the airline later moves that flight to Long Thanh, the decision says the Tan Son Nhat charge at the original ticket-issue time remains in force. The passenger is not charged or refunded the difference just because the departure airport changes.
Long Thanh is a planned second airport, not a replacement overnight
The Government’s published transition plan targets commercial operations at Long Thanh from December 1, 2026. In the first phase, through March 27, 2027, airlines are encouraged — but not required — to start international passenger and cargo services there according to their commercial plans. The new fee does not mean every Ho Chi Minh City-area international flight will move to Long Thanh on opening day.
When booking a future trip, check the airport shown on the ticket and the full fare breakdown. A Long Thanh departure and a Tan Son Nhat departure are different journeys from Ho Chi Minh City, and the passenger-service amount alone does not tell you which airport an airline will use.
