About Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival, known as “Tết Trung Thu” in Vietnam, is one of the most significant and eagerly awaited celebrations in the country. It typically takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, usually falling in late September or early October.
In 2024, the Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on Tuesday, September 17th.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture and is often referred to as the “Children’s Festival.” It is a time for family reunions, honoring the moon, and expressing gratitude for the harvest. The festival is especially meaningful for children, who are considered the center of attention during this celebration. Traditionally, parents use this occasion to show their love and appreciation for their children, offering them mooncakes, toys, and other treats.
Despite the Mid-Autumn Festival being one of the most popular festivals in Vietnamese culture, there are hardly any tours that bring tourists to the true vibe of this festival. That’s why, AN Tours Vietnam, one of the top tour operators, decided to make the first and only tour in Saigon with a Mid-Autumn Festival Theme.
