Southern Da Nang’s Tour Program Puts the Former Tam Ky Area in Focus

Da Nang’s southern tourism program spans Tam Thanh, Tam Hai, wetlands and highland heritage sites, but no public tour list or booking details were announced.

Da Nang’s tourism department has introduced a program to link destinations in the city’s southern area, including the former Tam Ky region, with rural, coastal and ecological experiences. Local officials say some businesses have already developed tours there, but the announcement does not provide named packages, prices or booking details.

A broad area, not one ready-made route

The proposed tourism network spans several different landscapes. Along the coast, the report names Tam Thanh Community Art Village, Tam Thanh and Tam Tien beaches, and Tam Hai Island. Inland, it points to the Dam River wetlands and Huong Tra Ecological Village; cultural and historical stops include Chien Dan Cham Towers, Ky Anh Tunnels and the Monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Farther west are Phu Ninh Lake, Loc Yen Ancient Village and the Ngoc Linh ginseng-growing region.

These are separate places across the southern part of Da Nang, rather than a single walkable cluster. The article says visitors can reach the area via National Highway 1, the Da Nang–Quang Ngai Expressway or the coastal road toward Chu Lai; National Highway 40B connects the lowlands with highland areas. It does not give trip times, tour operators or public departure schedules.

What is changing for visitors

The city’s tourism department is encouraging businesses to build products around the area’s craft villages, wetlands, rural communities and mountains. The report says several tours have already been designed and attracted visitors, but does not identify them or confirm how travelers can book. That distinction matters: the program signals a new development push, not a published catalogue of ready-to-book itineraries.

For January–September 2026, the report gives visitor counts of about 90,000 at the Monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 42,000 at Tam Hai, 35,000 at Loc Yen Ancient Village and 14,496 at Phu Ninh Lake. Those figures describe visits to individual sites, not the number of people using the newly announced tours.

If you are planning a southern Da Nang stop, check the exact destination and transport arrangement with the operator before treating several of these places as one excursion. For a trip that continues north to Hue, MIA Hue Tours is a local-experience option.
