Our English-speaking tour guides will pick you up at Phu My Port at 6:30 - 8:30 (depending on your cruise arrival time) to start our journey. Please note that your cruise may wander around the port, and our car is not allowed to come too close to the cruise ship. Therefore, here are our suggestions:
Our Vung Tau Shore Excursion (from Phu My Port) is not only about the places we visit. On the way to Vung Tau City, we will drive along a secret road, which will come with a nice view of the Long Son Floating Raft village.
As the number 1 biggest Jesus statue in Asia, the Christ of Vung Tau Statue is one of the top attractions for any travelers visiting Vung Tau City. You can climb into the top of the statue's shoulders, which will give a great view of Vung Tau City.
*Note: if you have health (heart, lung, bones,...) problems, please consider not climbing up. It will be quite tiring.
Villa Blanche (White Palace) in Vung Tau is a French colonial mansion built in 1898 as a retreat for French governors. It was used as a prison for a king in the Nguyen Emperor. Overlooking Front Beach, it features elegant architecture, historical artifacts, and scenic sea views.
Thang Tam Temple, or the Whale Temple in Vung Tau is a hidden gem missed by many tourists when they visit this coastal city. Here, you will find an impressive 18-meter-long whale skeleton (Cá Ông) that washed ashore in 1831 at Bãi Sau beach in Vũng Tàu.
Many tourists visit Vung Tau for its relaxing beach, and fresh seafood. However, there is a place called Vung Tau Monkey Pagoda that is hidden in a mountain inside the city, away from travelers who are only attracted by popular tourist spots. Here is the home for more than 100 wild monkeys.
We will drive by Vung Tau Church, which was built in 1889. Here, our tour guides will show you some photo of it a century ago.
We will stop at a local restaurant to try authentic Vietnamese food (that is a specialty of Vung Tau) for lunch. In case you have any food allergies, please let us know so that we can arrange for you. The food will be different depending on the seasons.
We will travel along the beach of Vung Tau, see fishing boats, and take a rest so that you can swim on the beach (please prepare swimsuit if you do) or have a coffee before we return to the cruise.
