Visitor Injured After Fall at Lung Cu, Vietnam’s Northernmost Point
A visitor was rescued after losing his footing at Lung Cu on October 24. Local authorities urged visitors to stay clear of cliffs and steep slopes.
On October 24, a male visitor was rescued after a fall at Vietnam’s northernmost point in Lung Cu Commune, Tuyen Quang Province. He had climbed onto a concrete railing to take photographs before losing his footing.

The cliff below is about 300 metres deep, but the visitor rolled down the vegetated mountainside, where plants helped cushion his fall. Rescuers found him conscious, with minor scratches and neck pain. After receiving first aid, he was taken to a medical facility for further examination.
Local police, border guards, medical staff and residents took part in the rescue. Afterward, local authorities urged visitors to follow safety signs and instructions and to avoid walking or taking photographs near cliffs, steep slopes and deep ravines.
