Hybrid Sports Lounge
Also 24/7 during the tournament.
Hybrid is another solid option, especially if Shamrock is full. Locals on Reddit and Facebook groups consistently recommend it for World Cup viewing. Good atmosphere, big screens, and they stay open for the late/early matches.
Beach Bars on My Khe
Da Nang’s beach is its superpower. During the World Cup, several beach bars along My Khe set up projectors and screens for evening matches.
Imagine watching Argentina vs Brazil with your feet in the sand, a cold beer in hand, and the ocean breeze keeping you cool. That’s Da Nang during World Cup season.
The bars along Vo Nguyen Giap Street (the beach road) are the ones to check. Walk north from My Khe beach access point and you’ll find at least 3-4 bars with outdoor screens.
Hoi An — 30 Minutes Away
If you’re staying in Hoi An, don’t worry — you’re not missing out. Hoi An has its own spots:
- Several bars in the Ancient Town show matches on projectors
- Check Facebook expat groups for which ones are showing specific games
- The riverside restaurants often have TVs — catch a match with a view of the lanterns
- Grab from Hoi An to Da Nang is about 30 minutes and 150,000 – 200,000 VND if you want the full sports bar experience
Match Timing in Da Nang
Da Nang is more casual than Hanoi or Saigon. The beach bars won’t be open for 1 AM kickoffs, but Shamrock and Hybrid will be. Here’s how to plan:
- 1 AM – 4 AM: Shamrock or Hybrid (both 24/7). Grab a cab there.
- 5 AM – 8 AM: Beach cafes start opening. Some have TVs.
