Cai Rang works when you treat it as a dawn river trip. Aim to be on the water around 5:30–6:00 AM, see the trading boats and breakfast sellers, then continue to a canal or return for a proper meal. Arriving at 10:00 AM turns the visit into a short look at a market that has already thinned out.

Car or motorbike to the bridge area

From Ninh Kieu, the road journey is about 15 minutes by motorbike, followed by roughly 500 metres from Cai Rang Bridge via the local road approach. Reaching the riverbank is not the same as seeing the market: arrange the short boat portion before you set off, and check where the boat returns you.

Guide or arranged route

A guide helps when you want market, breakfast and smaller canals in one route. Independent travel gives more control, but it leaves you to negotiate before sunrise. Either way, ask what food is included and where you finish.
