Can Tho Airport Bus: Choosing CT-06 or CT-09

CT-09 passes Can Tho Central Bus Station; CT-06 heads toward O Mon. Compare their hours and spacing before choosing a bus from VCA.

Can Tho has two reported bus lines that start at the airport, but they go to different places. CT-06 heads toward Ô Môn via the Phong Điền transfer point; CT-09 travels through Cần Thơ and the city bus terminal before continuing to Đại Ngãi. Both notices list service between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The published spacing is measured in tens of minutes, so these are route buses—not a frequent hotel shuttle.

The route details below were checked against local notices published September 29 and October 9, 2026. Confirm your stop, fare for a partial journey and the next departure with the operator before you build a tight connection around a bus.

Choose the route by your next stop

Both lines originate at Can Tho International Airport in Thới An Đông Ward. Their route numbers alone do not tell you whether a bus will leave you near your hotel. CT-06 is the shorter airport-to-Ô Môn route; CT-09 runs farther, reaching Bến xe khách Trung tâm TP Cần Thơ (the Can Tho Central Bus Station) on its way to Đại Ngãi.

Báo Cần Thơ’s route notice lists the CT-06 path, its 46-km length, 18 daily trips and 60–70-minute spacing. A September 29 report by Báo Đại biểu Nhân dân, republished on Vietnam.vn, describes CT-09 passing Bến xe khách Trung tâm TP Cần Thơ and gives its 30–40-minute spacing. That report lists 68,000 VND for the complete airport–Đại Ngãi route; it does not give a separate fare for a shorter airport-to-city segment.

The Ministry of Construction’s Báo Xây Dựng also identifies both CT-06 and CT-09 as airport-origin lines and distinguishes their destinations: Ô Môn for CT-06 and Đại Ngãi for CT-09. The routes serve different corridors; do not board one just because its sign says it starts at the airport.

When a direct ride is the safer plan

A bus can make sense when your destination is on its route, you arrive within the published service window and you can tolerate the wait. The route summaries do not give a departure-by-departure timetable or a confirmed fare for every stop. A bus that begins at the airport can still require another ride from its stop to your hotel.

If your flight lands close to 5:30 p.m., you have a long journey onward, or you need to reach a specific hotel promptly, arrange a direct pickup with your accommodation or transport provider instead of depending on the next bus. Ask for the exact meeting point and total price before you set off. The same applies if your hotel is not near either route’s stops.

Check these details before boarding

  • Confirm the line number and destination shown on the bus or current route notice: CT-06 is toward Ô Môn; CT-09 is toward Đại Ngãi.
  • Ask which stop is closest to your hotel or next bus. For CT-09, verify the Central Bus Station stop and where to continue from there.
  • Ask the operator for the fare to your actual stop. The published 68,000 VND figure is for the full CT-09 route, not a confirmed airport-to-city fare; the CT-06 notice gives no fare amount.
  • Check the next departure and whether service is still running. A 30–70-minute interval leaves little room for a missed bus near the end of the operating window.

Once you have a city stop and hotel plan, continue with our Cai Rang Floating Market visit guide or Can Tho food guide to plan the rest of your stay.
