2 most famous Chiang Mai Red Light Districts

Chiang Mai red light districts are not as famous or flashy as Bangkok’s or Pattaya’s, but they do exist — just in a much quieter, more low-key form. Here are the most famous ones of them.

Loi Kroh Road - Chiang Mai Red Light District

If Chiang Mai has a red-light district, Loi Kroh Road is it. This street may not have the wild shows or neon chaos like the red light districts in Bangkok, or Phuket Red Light District, but it’s where most of the city’s adult entertainment quietly operates.

Lining the street — and especially tucked into its side alleys (known as sois) — you’ll find beer bars with hostesses, massage shops offering “special services”, and the occasional freelancer. Unlike Bangkok, most of this happens behind smiles and soft invitations, not flashy signs.

💃 What kind of adult services are here?

  • Beer bars with hostesses: You’ll be invited for a drink, and if there’s chemistry, you can negotiate time outside the bar. Expect to pay a bar fine (300–800 baht) to the bar if she agrees to leave with you.

  • Happy ending” massage shops: These are scattered along Loi Kroh and nearby sois. Not all offer extras, but many do — discreetly. Prices vary, but 2,000–3,000 baht is a common range for short-time.

  • Freelancers: Less common, but you may meet women who work independently in nearby bars or hotel lobbies.

Night Bazaar area

The Night Bazaar area is one of Chiang Mai’s most famous tourist zones, known for its crowded evening markets, street food, and souvenir stalls. But behind the busy shopping scene, this area also hides a more discreet adult entertainment sceneespecially along the small alleys and backstreets nearby. This reminds us of the hidden red light area of Ao Nang – Krabi.

While the main road is full of tourists and vendors, just a few steps away — especially around Chang Khlan Road, Soi Anusarn, and Soi 6you’ll find:

  • Massage parlors offering “extra services”: They usually have soft lighting, attractive staff out front, and names like “VIP Massage” or “Relax Spa.”

  • Freelancers near bars or hotels: Some women work independently and approach foreign men outside bars or in quieter corners near the Night Bazaar.

  • Ladyboy bars and massage: A few venues in this area cater to those curious about transgender nightlife, though everything is low-profile.
