Da Nang Tourism earned 1300 billion VND during 30-4 and 1-5 holiday

During the April 30th and May 1st holidays 2024, Da Nang tourism industry saw a remarkable boost, earning 1300 billion VND. This surge was driven by exciting events like paragliding and beach activities, drawing tourists to experience the city's vibrant atmosphere and scenic beauty.

Big win for Da Nang tourism

On May 1st 2024, the Da Nang Tourism Department shared updates on the city’s tourism activities over the April 30th and May 1st holidays. The city hosted over 336,000 visitors during the five-day period, marking an 11.6% increase from 2023. International visitors totaled about 72,000, more than doubling the previous year’s numbers, while domestic visitors were around 264,000. Total tourism revenue reached approximately 1.336 trillion VND, up by 12.7% from last year.

The city also accommodated about 563 flights, averaging 112 daily, split between 61 domestic and 51 international. Train travel saw over 16,000 passengers, a 60% increase from last year, with a notable rise in self-driven road travel.

On April 28th, the cruise ship AZAMARA JOURNEY docked at Tien Sa port, bringing 800 guests from Europe and the USA, and Canada. Han River cruises also saw a 9% increase in passengers compared to last year. During the holidays, the occupancy rates for 4-5 star accommodations stood at 70%, while those below three stars averaged 45%, primarily hosting individual travelers.

Major tourist spots like Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park, and Ngu Hanh Son Monument were popular among visitors, along with beach activities and experiences on Son Tra Peninsula.

Paragliding was prominently featured as a key attraction in Da Nang’s tourism activities during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, helping to draw both local and international tourists. The inclusion of paragliding in the city’s tourism agenda capitalized on Da Nang’s scenic landscapes, offering unique aerial views that enhanced the overall visitor experience.
