Hanoi–Thai Nguyen Tourist Train Planned for Six 2026 Tea Festival Departures
Six Hanoi–Thai Nguyen tourist-train departures are planned around the 2026 Tea Festival, with round-trip fares and proposed tour-package prices.
A Hanoi–Thai Nguyen tourist train is planned to run on six dates around the 2026 International Tea Festival: October 30–31, November 1, and November 5–7. The limited festival-period schedule is separate from the route’s October 9 pilot and does not establish regular weekly service.

The listed round-trip fare is 200,000 VND per individual passenger or 160,000 VND per group passenger. Each trip is expected to carry about 250 people. The schedule does not state where tickets can be booked.
The service uses six carriages, including a community carriage for cultural performances and tea-related activities. The journey described in the trial report took about two hours from Hanoi to Luu Xa Station in Thai Nguyen, with a photo stop at Long Bien Station. That journey departed Hanoi at 6:25 a.m.; the report did not confirm departure times for the six planned festival trips.
Optional tours and the longer-term plan
One-day tour packages are expected to cost 790,000 VND per person. The described package includes round-trip train tickets, a meal valued at 200,000 VND, admission fees, a shuttle vehicle, a guide and travel insurance. Two-day, one-night packages are estimated at 1.79 million to 1.99 million VND per person.
After the festival, the parties involved plan to study whether the train could operate three to five times a week, depending on demand and operating results. For the earlier trial, see our October 9 pilot update.
