Thai Nguyen Pilots a Tea-Culture Train From Hanoi
A Hanoi–Thai Nguyen heritage train carried its first passenger group on October 9, with a community carriage for performances and tea tasting.
A six-carriage heritage train carried its first passenger group from Hanoi to Luu Xa Station in Thai Nguyen on October 9, 2026. The journey was a pilot for a new tea-culture tourism product, with one carriage set aside for performances, tea appreciation and local tastings.

Vu Thi Thu Huong, deputy director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the service was introduced to diversify tourism products along the Hanoi–Thai Nguyen rail route. The pilot links a rail journey with the province’s tea heritage; the reported first trip does not establish a regular passenger timetable.
A pilot, not a regular service announcement
The journey was a pilot, not evidence of a regular timetable. The service’s longer-term operation will depend on demand and operating efficiency. No recurring schedule, ongoing ticket availability, safety clearance, or final festival access calendar is established, so travelers should not plan around routine rail service based on this pilot alone.
A later update lists six planned festival-period departures on October 30–31, November 1, and November 5–7, 2026; see the planned Hanoi–Thai Nguyen train schedule for the reported fares and tour options.
