About Vietnam Charity Walk

The fund raising

The Vietnam Charity Walk, a groundbreaking initiative by Jake Norris and Sean Down, transcends the conventional boundaries of charitable events.

This trek, an extensive journey stretching an extraordinary 2000 kilometers, weaves from the vibrant streets of Hanoi to the bustling avenues of Ho Chi Minh City. Beyond the physical prowess required, the walk symbolizes a profound narrative of resilience and humanitarian spirit. The chosen path, less traveled and replete with natural and cultural diversity, allows for an immersive experience in Vietnam’s rich heritage.

This meticulously planned expedition serves a dual purpose: a physically demanding challenge and a noble endeavor to amass crucial funds exceeding $200,000. These funds are earmarked for two vital causes – the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and the Thanh Loc project, each playing a pivotal role in addressing human trafficking and enhancing the welfare of disadvantaged children in Vietnam.

The fundraising is also supported by the Australia Embassy. The sponsorship from the Australian Embassy for the Vietnam Charity Walk is a meaningful gesture, reflecting Australia’s dedication to combatting human trafficking. This support is also a commemorative act, marking the significant milestone of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam. Through their involvement, the embassy not only acknowledges the importance of the cause but also celebrates a longstanding partnership with Vietnam.

This event is not just a journey across geography but a passage through the heart of Vietnam’s societal challenges, aiming to leave an indelible mark on the lives it touches and the communities it embraces.
