Vietnam Ranks 10th in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Country Poll
Condé Nast Traveler readers placed Vietnam 10th in its 2026 country poll, scoring 92.99; the vote is a reader survey, not a measure of every traveler’s experience.
Vietnam placed 10th among 20 countries in the U.S. edition of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, scoring 92.99 points. The result, published on October 6, comes from readers’ votes; it is an editorial poll, not a rating of every traveler’s experience or conditions across the country.

Where Vietnam placed
Japan, Italy and Ireland took the first three places. Vietnam ranked just ahead of South Korea, which scored 92.98 in 11th place, and Thailand, which scored 92.89 in 12th. The 0.01-point gap between Vietnam and South Korea is small; the table records survey results, not a measurable difference in trip quality.
What the country-level poll does not tell you
The list ranks countries as a whole; it does not rank Vietnamese cities, attractions or travel seasons. A reader-voted score also says nothing by itself about entry rules, current transport, prices or access at a particular destination. Use it as one indication of how respondents viewed the country, not as a substitute for planning around your own route and dates.
Another country-level measure, the WEF’s 2026 Safety and Security pillar, uses different indicators from a reader-voted poll; see the WEF’s 2026 Safety and Security measure. This index is not a guarantee of local safety.
