Vietnam visa website changed from 11th November 2024
Since 11th November 2024, the two Vietnam visa websites have been changed. This was informed by the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security Immigration Department, in an attempt to make the sites more modern and easier to apply for Vietnam visas.
Issues of old Vietnam visa websites
For many years, Vietnam has required its foreign visitors to apply for a visa (e-visa) to enter the country (except for some countries with visa exemptions). However, the visa application website encountered several problems that made the process frustrating for travelers:
Technical Glitches: Many users reported that key buttons, like “Review Application,” would freeze or not respond, halting the application mid-process. Some applicants found that switching to different browsers or devices sometimes solved the issue, but this added extra hassle.
Browser Compatibility: The website didn’t work smoothly across all browsers. Travelers experienced functionality issues with popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox, while less common browsers, like Safari on iPad, sometimes worked better.
Payment Failures: Many applicants faced payment errors, even after multiple attempts using various cards or devices. These payment failures caused applicants to start over and often delayed their travel plans.
Captcha Errors: The website’s Captcha feature frequently failed to display correctly, leaving users unable to pass verification and proceed with their applications.
- Old-fashioned design: The website design is not good, leading to many travelers thinking that it is a fake website
New Visa website announced
Received feedbacks about the old Vietnam visa application website, the government has listened and made a new one to improve the travelers’ experience.
FROM 11/11/2024, THE OFFICIAL VIETNAM VISA WEBSITES WILL BE MOVED TO:
The new visa websites provide a more secure and user-friendly experience for applicants. They feature easier navigation, clearer instructions, and improved security measures to protect personal information, making it simpler and safer to submit visa applications and check results.
