Twenty minutes from Ho Tram, there’s a place with 70 natural hot mineral springs bubbling out of the ground. And somehow, most resort guests never hear about it.
Binh Chau Hot Springs — recently rebranded as Minera Hot Springs Binh Chau — is one of those places that sounds too good to be true. Natural hot pools in a forest setting, mud baths, mineral soaking. It’s been here for decades but got a major upgrade recently, and it’s worth the trip.
What Is It?
Minera Hot Springs Binh Chau is southern Vietnam’s largest natural hot spring complex. Over 70 spring sources with water temperatures ranging from 40°C to 82°C. The water is rich in minerals — silica, sulfur, sodium — and the complex has pools at different temperatures so you can soak your way up from warm to properly hot.
They’ve got mud baths (the mineral kind, not the novelty kind), private soaking tubs, a large communal pool, and even an egg-boiling station where you can cook eggs in the hottest spring water. It’s a bit gimmicky but fun.
How to Get There
About 15-20 minutes north of the main Ho Tram resort strip. You need a car or motorbike — no public transport here. If you’ve got a private driver already arranged for your trip, they’ll know it. If you’re staying at a resort, the front desk can call you a taxi, but it won’t be instant — plan ahead.
What to Know Before You Go
- Go in the morning. Opens around 7-8am. By 10am tour buses start arriving. You want the 7:30-9:30 window for relative peace.
- Bring your own towel and flip-flops. They sell/rent everything on-site but at tourist prices.
- Cash only at some stalls. The main entrance takes cards but smaller vendors inside might not.
- It’s not a spa. It’s a natural hot spring complex. Facilities are clean and modern but it’s not a five-star spa experience. Manage expectations.
- Half a day is enough. 2-3 hours and you’ll have done everything. Combine it with the Binh Chau Fishing Port (6am) for a full morning out.
The Short Version
Binh Chau Hot Springs is the best half-day trip from Ho Tram. Go early, bring a towel, soak for a couple hours, be back at your resort by lunch. Easy.
