The best day for Carnival Panorama cruisers
The day started with a big group of excited cruise passengers arriving at Phu My Port, ready to explore Ho Chi Minh City. Referred by Sandra Cruise Tours, they are welcomed by the friendly tour guides of AN Tours Vietnam – who professionally arrange everything for them among the crowds.
Then all of them boarded a comfortable bus and set off toward Ho Chi Minh City.

Their first stop was the Independence Palace. This historic building is where the Vietnam War ended in 1975 when North Vietnamese tanks broke through its gates. Inside, the group walked through grand rooms that had once been filled with important leaders.
The place is also beautifully constructed, and many guests took selfies during the visiting time.

Next, they visited the Notre Dame Cathedral. Standing tall with its red bricks and twin towers, the cathedral was built by the French in the late 1800s. It looked like a little piece of France in the middle of bustling Saigon. Inside, some took a quiet moment to admire the stained-glass windows, while others enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
Across the street, they stepped into the Central Post Office. This post office wasn’t like any they had seen before. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it had high arched ceilings and old wooden phone booths. Some in the group bought postcards to send home, feeling like they were back in time as they walked through this beautiful building.

For lunch, the group enjoyed a traditional Vietnamese feast. They tried dishes like coconut salad with shrimp and pork, beef shank with fish sauce, and tiger prawns cooked in coconut juice. The meal also included steamed chicken with lemon leaves, flavorful fried rice, and a sweet lotus seed dessert. Each dish was full of fresh flavors, giving everyone a true taste of Vietnam.

The last stop was the War Remnants Museum. Here, the group learned about the Vietnam War through photos and displays. The stories were sad but important, showing the hard times Vietnam had been through and the strength of its people. This visit was emotional for many, but it left them with a deeper understanding of the country’s past.

As they returned to their bus, the group felt they had experienced something truly special. They’d seen famous sights, tasted unique food, and learned more about Vietnam’s history. This day was full of memories they would carry with them long after they left Ho Chi Minh City.

That’s the end of the journey on October 14th, 2024. We may soon see the guests in their next trip to Vietnam!
