The Grand Ho Tram’s $1 Billion Expansion: What Is Planned

The Grand Ho Tram announced a $1 billion expansion in 2025. Separate the planned development from existing hotels, gaming eligibility and future road access.

The Grand Ho Tram broke ground on an expansion estimated at US$1 billion in May 2025. The announcement concerned a new development, not a completed set of facilities that every current hotel booking includes.

If you are choosing a stay now, check the specific hotel and room, its current amenities, and any works affecting that area. This report does not establish a completion percentage or guarantee that construction will be inaudible from your room.

What Was Announced

Inside Asian Gaming’s report dated 16 May 2025, citing the project release, describes a 35-hectare development with a new five-star hotel complex, resort villas, entertainment amenities and an international convention and exhibition center. It names Lodgis Hospitality Holdings and VinaLiving as collaborators.

The report places the expansion within a longer-term US$4.2 billion master plan. Keep the figures separate: an estimated expansion budget and a master-plan value are not money already spent or proof that all planned rooms and facilities are operating.

Existing Hotels and the Later Gaming Pilot

The Grand’s official local-gaming release, published in December 2025, identifies InterContinental Grand Ho Tram, Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach and Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion as the existing hotel offering, with The Bluffs golf course adjacent.

That release also says The Grand was included in a five-year pilot allowing eligible Vietnamese citizens to participate in regulated gaming under government supervision. This later announcement must not be confused with the position at the May groundbreaking. It does not make casino entry unrestricted, does not establish that The Grand is the only casino admitting eligible Vietnamese visitors, and does not make gaming a family activity.

Travelers intending to enter the casino should check the operator’s current eligibility and required-document rules directly. A hotel reservation is not evidence of admission eligibility.

The Award Is Separate From the Expansion

The resort’s TTG award announcement says it received “Best Integrated Resort” at the September 2025 TTG Travel Awards in Bangkok, becoming the first Vietnamese recipient of that title. An award recognizes the property; it does not verify the delivery of future construction or promise an experience for every guest.

What to Check for Your Stay

Ask the named hotel whether works affect the room category, beach access, pool, restaurant or event space you want to use. Request the facilities included in your rate and the charges for separate activities. Use the Ho Tram resort comparison if you are deciding between The Grand, Melia and Angsana.

The Long Thanh Airport transition plan and expressway project are separate developments with separate conditions. Do not combine their target dates into a guaranteed transfer time, an opening date for the expansion or a forecast of higher room rates.
