Ho Tram Weather Guide — Best Months to Visit (2026)
Ho Tram has two seasons: dry and wet. But the difference between January and September is night and day. Here’s the month-by-month breakdown — rain, sea conditions, and when to book.
Ho Tram has two seasons: dry and wet. Simple, right? Not quite. The difference between booking in January and booking in September is the difference between calm crystal-clear water and murky chop. Here’s the month-by-month reality.
Quick Overview
Southern Vietnam — Ho Tram included — has a tropical monsoon climate. Temperatures stay warm year-round (25-35°C / 77-95°F). What changes is the rain and the sea conditions.
- Dry season: November to April. Best months: December–February.
- Wet season: May to October. Still visitable — rain usually comes in short afternoon bursts.
- Hottest: April–May (can hit 37°C+).
- Coolest: December–January (still warm, just less humid).

What This Actually Means
If you’re flexible on dates, book December through February. The water is clearest, the humidity is lowest, and the beach is at its best. March and April are still good — just hotter. November is the wild card — some years it’s dry, some years the rains drag on.
June through September is wet season. Don’t write it off completely — mornings are often sunny, and the storms usually hit around 3-4pm and last an hour or two. Resorts are cheaper and emptier. If you don’t mind a daily rain shower and potentially choppy sea, the trade-off can be worth it.
One thing resort brochures won’t tell you: the sea in August-September can be properly rough. Not dangerous — this isn’t monsoon coast — but you won’t get that glassy, postcard-calm water. For the best beach swimming, aim for December-March.
The Short Version
Go in January or February for the best weather. Go in June or July if you want lower prices and don’t mind afternoon rain. Avoid September if you can.
